Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using BreadIQ, including the iOS and Android apps, our website, and our browser extensions (Free, Basic, or Premium), and wherever the app asks you to accept them, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use BreadIQ, and your access ends immediately.

2. Description of Service and Account Security

• The platform: BreadIQ is a digital workbench for baker's percentages, hydration, ingredient cost tracking, and predictive fermentation calculations. It includes Active Bake, which guides you through a bake step by step.
• Account responsibility: You must keep your login credentials confidential and you are responsible for everything that happens under your account. Sign-in is provided through Supabase.

3. Subscriptions, Free Trial and Payments

• Plans: BreadIQ offers a free tier and two paid subscriptions, Basic and Premium, each billed monthly or yearly. Current prices are shown in the app and on our pricing page before you buy.
• Free trial: BreadIQ may give new accounts a 30-day trial of Premium features. The trial is an entitlement granted by BreadIQ to your account, not a store subscription. It does not enroll you in a paid plan or charge you. When it ends, your account returns to its applicable tier, and you must subscribe to Basic or Premium yourself if you want to keep paid features.
• Billing: Subscriptions bought in the iOS app are charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions bought in the Android app are charged to your Google Play account. BreadIQ does not store or process your card details.
• Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period for the same length and price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
• Cancelling: Manage or cancel in your Apple ID account settings (iOS) or in Google Play under Subscriptions (Android). Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. If you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you already paid for.
• Refunds: Refunds for purchases made through Apple or Google are handled by Apple or Google under their policies, and you request them from them directly. Except where the law requires otherwise, BreadIQ does not issue refunds for partial periods.
• Price changes: We may change prices. Where the store requires it, you will be notified and given the chance to cancel before a new price applies to you.

4. Features by Tier

• Free: foundational calculator tools. Free accounts cannot save recipes to the cloud library.
• Basic: adds Active Bake, pre-ferments, nutrition and cost estimates, and up to 10 saved recipes.
• Premium: includes everything in Basic, plus advanced tools such as the Predictive Fermentation Model™, SpeedRun™, Cold Ferment, humidity adjustment, custom ingredient prices, recipe export, and up to 50 saved recipes.

We may add, change, or move features between tiers as BreadIQ develops, subject to applicable law and any commitments we have made to existing subscribers. The tier descriptions shown in the app are the current ones.

5. Intellectual Property and Your Content

• Our property: BreadIQ owns the software and its proprietary implementation, including the calculation logic, the Predictive Fermentation Model™, the interface and workflows, and the branding. You may not copy, scrape, or extract these materials, resell or redistribute them, or reverse-engineer the software except where the law allows it. BreadIQ does not claim ownership of general baking knowledge, baker's percentages, mathematical concepts, or methods that you or others develop independently.
• Your content: You keep ownership of the formulas and recipes you create and save. You give BreadIQ a license to store, host, process, and index that content in our infrastructure solely to run the app's features for you, including syncing between your devices.

6. Termination of Service

• By you: You can stop using BreadIQ at any time and delete your account from Settings in the app, or by emailing support@breadiq.io. Deleting your account permanently removes your account information and saved data, except anything we must keep by law or as described in our Privacy Policy. It does not cancel a store subscription; cancel that separately (see section 3).
• By us: We may suspend or end an account immediately and without notice for violations of these terms, including reverse-engineering the calculation logic, scraping ingredient or cost data, or disrupting our hosting environments or the iOS App Store and Google Play distributions.

7. Estimates, Food Safety and No Culinary Guarantee

• No guarantee of results: BreadIQ's calculations depend on the information you enter. Real dough also depends on humidity, flour variation, yeast activity, microbial activity, and oven calibration. BreadIQ is not responsible for failed batches, wasted ingredients, or any kitchen outcome.
• Timing and temperature are guidance: Fermentation timelines, proofing times, and doneness predictions are estimates. Judge your dough by how it looks and feels, and use your own judgment.
• Nutrition: Nutrition figures are estimates based on USDA data and the ingredients you enter. They are not medical or dietary advice and are not suitable for managing allergies, medical conditions, or labeling food for sale. Check your actual ingredients and consult a qualified professional for dietary needs.
• Allergens: BreadIQ does not detect or warn about allergens. You are responsible for knowing what is in the food you make and serve.
• Cost tracking: On Basic and Premium, costs are based on market-derived reference prices by default. Premium users can enter custom ingredient prices to match their actual costs. Either way, costs are estimates, and BreadIQ is not liable for differences from your actual expenses or invoices.
• Food safety: You are responsible for safe food handling, including ingredient storage, hygiene, and cooking food to safe temperatures.

8. Probes, Ovens and Hot Equipment

• Probes: BreadIQ can connect to supported temperature probes, such as the Combustion Inc. Predictive Thermometer. Probe readings, forecasts and "done" alerts are advisory. Probes can fail, disconnect, lose accuracy, or be placed incorrectly, so confirm doneness yourself.
• Heat and equipment: Baking involves hot ovens, steam, and hot surfaces. You are responsible for using your equipment safely. To the fullest extent the law allows, BreadIQ is not responsible for burns, fires, injuries, thermal shock to cookware, or damage to oven equipment or other property.
• Hardware: Third-party hardware is governed by its maker's terms and warranties, not ours.

9. Imported Recipes

You can import recipes from websites, photos, and your browser. You are responsible for having the rights you need for the way you use any content you import. Using a recipe for your own baking is usually fine; if you share, publish, or sell a recipe, make sure you have permission. BreadIQ converts imported recipes into formulas for your use and does not claim ownership of them. Imports may contain errors, so check the converted ingredients and quantities before you bake.

10. Notifications, Siri and Voice

BreadIQ sends notifications, alerts, and Live Activity updates to help you time your bake. Delivery depends on your device, operating system, settings, battery, and connection, and can be delayed or blocked. Do not rely on a notification as your only safeguard. Siri and voice features on iPhone are provided by Apple and depend on its service; answers may be unavailable or inaccurate.

11. Third-Party Services

BreadIQ relies on third-party services, including sign-in and data storage, hosting, payment processing, subscription management, crash reporting, bot protection, email delivery, push notifications, website analytics, the Apple App Store, and Google Play. Our Privacy Policy lists them. We are not responsible for outages or changes in those services.

12. As-Is Service and Limitation of Liability

BreadIQ is provided "as is" and "as available," with no warranties of any kind, including uptime, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the fullest extent the law allows:

• Excluded damages: BreadIQ LLC and its owners and affiliates are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or ingredients.
• Liability cap: Our total liability for all claims relating to BreadIQ or these terms will not exceed the subscription fees you paid for the most recent month before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms, including sections 7 and 8, excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. Some places do not allow certain limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

13. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how we use it. By using BreadIQ you agree to it.

14. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account or use BreadIQ. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use BreadIQ with a parent or guardian's permission.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. When we make material changes, we will update the version and effective date above, email the address on your account, may also notify you in the app, and may ask you to accept the updated terms the next time you sign in. Continuing to use BreadIQ after the effective date of a change means you accept it, unless the law requires your express consent.

16. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Illinois, and you agree to that venue to the extent the law allows. This does not take away consumer rights that the law of the place where you live gives you and that cannot be waived by contract.
